A piccolo place we created to bring a touch of la dolce vita to the South Downs. A little slice of Italy with a big heart - small but delicious plates, the best coffee and once a week, bowls of dreamy comforting pasta & the perfect aperitivo.
Everything we serve is made from scratch and good things sometimes take a little longer. So please bare with us - it's not rapido but it is delizioso

People ask us why Italian?
We wanted food that was simple but incredibly flavoursome. Our caffè is piccolo, so every crostini, bruschetta, small plate, nibble, focaccia sarni, ciabatta breakfast roll, warming bowl & toasted focaccia is oozing with love and umami.

Like all Italians (and Australians) we take coffee very seriously. We set out to serve the very BEST coffee and with the help of our famiglia del caffè we strive to do so every day, every cup. Our drinks menu is delicious, original & sometimes weird - it's in our blood.

We've been adopted by Italian food Royalty Vallebona. Stefano began importing the finer tastes of Italy 30 years ago and now with his beautiful wife Naoko, supplies the who’s who of chefs, finest hotels, elite food halls and little old us! We couldn't be more grateful.

As promised we have donned the checked table cloths and launched our very relaxed, 2 course suppers - Pasta & Pudding - EVERY Friday.
You'll need to book a table, but now you can book through the whole year!
It's 'alla carta' restaurant style, with bookings from 6.00pm

Pop-up Suppers
Once a month (ish) our piccolo caffè shimmers in candlelight as we open up after dark. Crisp white linen and glistening glasses grace the tables for our CENA ITALIANA or guest chef supper.
The 'Cena Italiana' are bookable, traditional, 4 course set menu Italian suppers of simple deliciousness and an abundance of true after dark Italian hospitality.
You'll find all our future pop-up evening events under 'Experiences' on Opentable. We'll release the menu and new dates as soon as they are available.
If you can't see an available pop-up it means we haven't launched the next date yet.
